SSgt Deven Futch Assistance Fund
Deven Futch is a young active-duty Drill Instructor at MCRD, San Diego. Being a Drill Instructor for the last three years, he began to build a life for himself, his wife Alexus, and three kids, Braylee(6), Raylen (3), and Haislee (6 months). Like any young family of five, Deven and Alexus found themselves operating on a tight budget while trying to establish themselves.
On Wednesday afternoon, Deven suffered a severe heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. His family learned that the heart attack affected one of his major arteries, and he is now in critical condition on life support. Deven’s recovery will be difficult, but we know he will fight it with a warrior’s heart, adapting and overcoming this unimaginable challenge.
Deven and Alexus’ families have flown in from all over the country to offer support during this inconceivable time. Taking care of three young children is extremely difficult without a horrifying tragedy, let alone with one.
Part of the West Coast Drill Instructor Association’s mission is to help Drill Instructor families when they need it most. Alexus has reached out to the Association to help keep up with the costs of taking care of their three little ones and travel costs to ensure that Deven is not alone through all of this. Members, loyal supporters, followers, and patriots, your kind and caring hearts are needed to help bring financial aid to the family during this time of crisis. Every dollar donated will go directly back to the family to help with day-to-day living expenses and make sure they have everything they need to take care of their three little ones during this trying time. Life can change in an instant, and we can’t thank you enough for any support you can offer.
